“I can’t breathe ” These heartbreaking words were uttered by George Floyd and Eric Gardner as they clamored for their lives to matter. These words will forever resonate as evidence of systemic racism towards African Americans in the United States. None of us should be able to breathe joyfully until justice is served and those responsible for murdering innocent African Americans and using racist policing tactics are held responsible for perpetrating heinous human rights violations. 

Registered Dietitians Nutritionists, Dietetic Interns, Diet Techs, Diet Tech Interns and Dietetic students stand with the Black Lives Matter Movement. We raise our voices against racist policing, which disproportionately affects people of color, especially African Americans. We respect the pain, agony, frustration, fear, and heartbreak of black people in America.
